The added value of Beijing’s service industry accounts for 82.3 percent of its GDP in the first three quarters of 2018, according to Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform (BMCDR) at a press conference held on December 28, 2018.
BMCDR introduced that Beijing service industry’s structure has turned from being led by accommodation, catering, commerce and trade, real property and other traditional industries to being dominated by finance, science and technology, information, culture and creative industry, commercial services and other modern service industries during 40 years since the reform and opening up.
Beijing service industry has kept steady and fast development in 2018, with its added value increasing by 7.2 percent in the first three quarters, whose contribution rate to the city’s economic growth amounts to 84.7 percent.
Meanwhile, the combined added value of finance, science and technology, information and commercial services accounts for 48.6 percent of Beijing’s GDP.
With the service industry’s high-quality development, new model and new type of business have become new growth points of the service industry.
Among them, Fintech, Internet +, entrepreneurship service, cross-border e-commerce, human resource etc have turned into new highlights of service industry’s development.
For example, Zhongguancun Internet Finance Innovation Center has gathered over 950 Internet finance institutions in various types.
Beijing has seen over 400 service agencies for Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Among them, a batch of well-known startup service institutions have grown.
A batch of enterprises with high-quality development in service industries have sprung up, such as 3GOLDEN, Xiaobenniao cross-border e-commerce platform and renrenlab.com.
